## Practical Tips

1. Buy writing instruments early; <Tooltip tip="Unless a cache has a writing instrument inside - this is added by the owner during hiding." headline="no writing instrument" cta="Read our Hiding guide" href="/discaching/hide-find">no writing instrument</Tooltip> means no Found It logs.
2. Keep at least one short-range and one long-range transport option.
3. Use `/discaching nearby` before committing travel.
4. Save hide drafts if you are still deciding on final location.
5. Use medium/large caches if you want more swag/sticker interactions.

## FAQ

### Why can I not log this cache as found?

Common reasons:

* You are too far away.
* Cache is unpublished.
* It is your own cache.
* You have no usable writing instrument.

### Why can I not start another trip?

You likely already have active travel. Use `/discaching location` to check status, or `/discaching travel cancel_current:true` to cancel your current travel.

### Why did my trip only go partway?

Your selected vehicle/ticket did not have enough max distance remaining for full route.

### Why can I not exchange swag in this cache?

Swag/sticker exchange is limited to larger cache sizes (M/L/XL).

### How do I get more G\$ quickly?

* Claim daily.
* Complete daily quests.
* Sell unused items.
* Open earned crates.
* Find easter eggs.
* Report unfair glitches.

## Suggested New Player Loadout

* 1 bike
* 1 to 2 writing instruments
* 2 to 3 containers with logs
